Do I still have to see a Dentist ?
Coming to our clinic for dental hygiene services does not eliminate the need to see your dentist. We encourage you to see your dentist regularly to assess for cavities and other tooth related issues.

How are the instuments sterilized ?
Instruments are sterilized through a two step process..First through a precleansing ultrasonic heated bath and then through a steam heated autoclave. All other products are single use only and are replaced with each client. Please feel free to ask if there are any concerns during your appointment.

Is this covered by Insurance ?
At Barrie Lakeside Dental and Wellness, we provide personalized care and education to all our clients with or without insurance. In most cases you have coverage by your existing dental plan. If in doubt we will be happy to contact your insurance company on your behalf to make an inquiry. We would be pleased to submit a pre-determination before treatment.

What is Self-Initiation ?
Registered Dental Hygienists may provide oral healthcare in settings other than a dental office. They may choose to have their own office or travel to their clients place of residence. Registered Dental Hygienists who are authorized by the college of Dental Hygienists of Ontario to "self-initiate" do not require the client to have an "order" from a dentist.
